Tired of recharging
your batteries every 10 hours? Your problems have been heard. Scientists of
UCLA, Richard Kaner and Maher El-Kady recently made a groundbreaking
discovery which might actually “change the world” or at least your battery*.
The video posted below describes the battery which was made out of graphene
that could light a bulb for 5 minutes with just charging it for 2-3 seconds.
To the science geeks
out there, the experiment was originally intended to make high quality sheets
of graphene which is by the way a Nobel Prize winning super material. In the
course of experimentation the scientist found its electrical properties and
more to their surprise it was one of the best super capacitors ever!
A capacitor stores
electrical charge and a word super indicate its predominance in the field.
Experts say that this new discovery can be coined to be (super) super
capacitor. The best part of whole experiment was the material could be made
with a simple DVD-Burner.
Get your DVDs ready,
we are going to make batteries!
