India is developing
world's largest magnet
India is rapidly moving forward in the field of Science and
Technology. It is known fact that the largest solar telescope is being built by
Indian in Ladakh. Now, India's Baba Atomic Research Center(BARC) is developing
worlds largest magnet. Currently, the worlds largest magnet is at CERN in
Geneva and ranges between 4000 and 5000 tons. The largest magnet that is being
developed by India would weigh around 50000 tons.
This magnet will play a crucial role in India-Neutrino Observatory which is
being set up 4300 feet below the cave in the mountain in Tamil Nadu.
